Even though the rush for small multifunctional tools is long gone, multitools are always useful. They have become commonplace and there are several brands that dominate the market. A multitool is compact, versatile, and quickly ready to use. It replaces an entire case full of specialized tools and is indispensable in many situations. A well-known manufacturer of multitools is NEXTOOL. They produce the Flagship Max with a bit set, which we want to show you in detail today.

The delivery includes a 14-in-1 multifunction pliers, a 9-in-1 bit set, an instruction manual, and a nylon sheath.

The Flagship Max can be folded down to 114 x 39 x 22 mm, weighs 249 g, and can be seamlessly carried in everyday life. This multitool is made of extremely durable stainless steel. The main blade is made from 80Cr14Mov (HRC > 54), the pliers from 30Cr13 with YG8 wire cutters. It is characterized by its corrosion resistance.

The 14-in-1 multifunction tool features needle-nose pliers, regular pliers, a wire cutter for soft and hard wire (YG8), a standard wire cutter, a sheep's foot blade, a wood saw, a large pair of scissors, a Phillips screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, and a bottle opener, a metal file, a glass breaker, and a ruler. The Flagship Max from NEXTOOL is a spring-loaded pliers.

The ruler features both centimeter and inch measurements.

Another notable feature of the multitool is the integrated nano-ceramic bead, which serves as a glass breaker.

This 2025 version of the Flagship Max includes enhanced small tools and a handy quarter-inch bit set that fits a 3D Phillips. The bit set includes sizes H1, PH2, PH3, a flathead screwdriver in sizes 3, 5, and 7, as well as wrench sizes H3, H4, and H5.

The bit holder is equipped with a magnet inside. This allows for hassle-free work with the tool.

The new, smaller tools of the Flagship Max are better equipped and can all be opened from the outside. A disadvantage of the multitool's small tools is that they are not lockable.

The 82 mm long sheep's foot blade can be opened with one hand via a thumb hole. The blade is made of robust 8Cr14Mov steel and has a blade thickness of 2.3 mm. This steel is mainly used in knives manufactured in Asia and has a hardness of between 55 and 56 HRC. Due to the low hardness of the blade, it can be sharpened very easily.

The liner-lock safety mechanism controls the larger tools that open inward. They can be deployed or folded without having to open the pliers.

The integrated wood saw of the Flagship Max measures 78 mm. The saw blade is made from high-quality 420J2 stainless steel and is characterized by a compact yet robust design. It has aggressively offset teeth.

The scissors are large and sturdy and can be opened outward.

For the upcoming tasks, there are needle-nose pliers, regular pliers, a wire cutter, a hard wire cutter, and a thick wire cutter available.

The NEXTOOL Flagship Max is pocket-sized and comes with an EDC pouch and a pocket clip.

Inside the pouch, there are two pockets where the multitool and bit set can be stored.

The attachment of the pouch to a belt or backpack strap allows for easy transport of the multitool and the 9-piece bit set.

CONCLUSION

The NEXTOOL Flagship Max is a robust and affordable 14-in-1 multitool. It builds upon the popular Flagship Pro and features an improved 80Cr14MoV blade, a 3D inline Phillips screwdriver, a 9-piece bit set, as well as a massive, spring-loaded pliers. All of this makes it an extremely powerful option for everyday carry (EDC). Due to its robustness, the NEXTOOL Flagship Max is also correspondingly heavy. The NEXTOOL Flagship Max is also convincing in that the knife can be easily sharpened. Additionally, the included pliers blades can be quickly replaced thanks to Torx screws. The NEXTOOL Flagship Max fits very well in the hand even during strenuous work, as its edges are well-crafted and rounded. Ergonomics for the hand were also taken into consideration during development.

The NEXTOOL Flagship Max is available here in the store or from retailers that carry the brand, starting at 50 euros.
