Claw Gear has made the already good even better. In this case, we are talking about their new Mk.II Operator Combat Pant, which is a revised version of their previous Operator Combat Pant - HERE in our review. So let's take a detailed look at these pants.
Our test model is in the color Solid Rock. This is a solid gray tone that also fits well in civilian areas. OK, the knee protectors look a bit conspicuous, but it could also be a work pant - and in a way, it is.
The Mk.II Operator Combat Pant is made of NIR NYCO blend fabric (50% cotton, 50% polyamide) with NIR stretch elements (93% polyamide, 7% polyurethane). The lighter spots are the stretch material. The pants are very comfortable to wear and fit very well. NIR means that the pants are not noticeable even in night vision devices. That's how we like it...
Overall, the Mk.II Operator Combat Pant is cut very simply and has no playful details. Everything is functional and focused on weight reduction. It weighs about 900 grams without the knee protectors.
Let's start at the waist and work our way through all the details of the Mk.II Operator Combat Pant. There are quite a few, so get ready.
Compared to the previous model, the Mk.II Operator Combat Pant features a slotted button and Velcro. The button is easy to use even with gloves and this combination keeps the pants securely fastened.
A zipper at the fly closes the last openings. The gap itself is rather short, as the Austrian cut is used, where the fly is simply shorter. It may be a bit unusual at first, but not a disadvantage.
Above the two pockets, you will find a D-ring on each side to attach dummy cords.
The belt loops are very wide. Here you can easily thread your 50mm belt with the Cobra buckle.
The pockets are reinforced in the corners, so the knife clip doesn't wear out quickly.
The adjustment system for the waist of the Mk.II Operator Combat Pant remains the same, but the materials have been improved. This type of adjustment system works great and has convinced us.
A practical feature in the Mk.II Operator Pant under the waist adjustment is a loop. This is used to attach your quick release lanyard carabiner. Of course, you can use a carabiner to attach pretty much anything you want. Really good.
The Mk.II Operator Combat Pant offers two zippered back pockets. It's noticeable that the stretch material is used more extensively on the back, not just as a stripe. This greatly increases maneuverability, but it's not so comfortable if you sit on sharp stones or thorns. So always be careful where you sit, if possible.
Everything fits in the crotch area? The stretch material was not spared even in the crotch area.
