The German Bundeswehr has chosen a model from the German manufacturer Carl Walther from Ulm in the recently concluded tender "Special Forces Pistol System." The framework contract for seven years includes the procurement of base weapons and compact weapons for all operational purposes. The special forces of the Bundeswehr are to be equipped, including the KSK (Special Forces Command), KSM (Combat Swimmers), and specialized forces of the Feldjäger.
The new handguns - military optimized adaptations of Walther's internationally successful PDP - will be designated P14 (base weapon) and P14K (compact) in the Bundeswehr.
