Big order for SMARTSHOOTER SMASH systems

02/19/2025
The Bundeswehr - recently in the news because it is often observed by unknown small drones - is working on its ability to defend against drones: At IEA MIL-OPTICS, they are pleased to announce another significant contract for the delivery of a medium three-digit number of SMARTSHOOTER SMASH systems from the Bundeswehr. This order underscores the growing trust of national and international armed forces in the innovative fire control technology of SMARTSHOOTER. The Bundeswehr as well as numerous NATO countries have already successfully introduced the SMASH system and are using it to combat drones and other threats. Especially in times of growing challenges posed by unmanned systems, SMARTSHOOTER offers a reliable and proven solution to enhance the operational capability of modern armed forces.

The SMASH technology is the leading electro-optical fire control system that significantly increases the precision and effectiveness of infantry weapons. Through AI and computer-assisted target acquisition, the probability of first-round hits is significantly increased, allowing the shooter to engage moving targets with maximum precision even under demanding conditions. Quick reaction capability is essential in drone defense, among other things. This not only reduces the required ammunition but also enhances the operational effectiveness and safety of the deployed forces.

"This new contract confirms the high performance of the SMASH system and the trust that international armed forces place in our solutions," explains Sebastian Mücke, Sales Manager MIL/LE of IEA MIL-OPTICS GmbH. "We are proud to contribute to increasing the operational capability and safety of our partners. We are also proud to make a significant contribution to the security and defense of Germany." With this further success, IEA MIL-OPTICS continues its strategic expansion in the field of cutting-edge optical target systems and strengthens its position as a leading provider of innovative fire control technologies in Europe.
