The HECKLER & KOCH has received the official order from the Federal Republic of Germany for the first delivery of the new standard assault rifle for the Bundeswehr. The rifle is based on the proven HK416 A8 model and will in future be referred to by the troops as G95A1 & KA1. Above in the image is the final version of the new German G95A1 (a HK433 is partially shown next to it).
“We are very pleased about the order and the trust associated with it,” says CEO Jens Bodo Koch. “The HK416 stands for state-of-the-art technology, highest reliability, and precision – and it is a strong sign of the ability of the German industry to equip our armed forces in the best possible way.”
With the currently commissioned batch, the delivery of a new generation of infantry weapons for the Bundeswehr begins. The procurement process started in 2017 with a Europe-wide tendering procedure and was legally completed in 2023. The order now placed marks the operational start of serial delivery.
