INTERVIEW: AWOrat.at is the advertising pillar for weapons and shooting sports.

Shopping? Nothing relaxes as much as a good shopping spree. AWOrat is an Austrian platform where equipment and weapons are offered and can also be bought - in compliance with legal regulations. We spoke to the AWOrat team and wanted to know how buying and selling works for them, and what the advantage is for their customers and partners.

SPARTANAT: You are AWOrat.at. The name says it all, but what does it mean?

AWOrat: The name AWOrat stands for Angeln Waffen Outdoor Inserat. We are the #1 point of contact when it comes to selling weapons, hunting, tactical equipment, or shooting sports accessories. And we have three separate marketplaces where private users and clubs can sell for free.

SPARTANAT: When someone visits your site, what is the offer?

AWOrat: Plenty of used and new weapons. These are offered by individuals and dealers from all over Austria. In our Shooter & Hunter marketplace, one can find what they are looking for, but of course, women are not left out either.

As operators, we offer the most modern and user-friendly classifieds portal in Austria when it comes to weapons, with features and tools similar to those known from "willhaben" and other professional websites outside the firearms industry.

From the watchlist, plenty of filters and categories, to the search agent, we have all the tools.

SPARTANAT: You are not the sellers, you are just the exchange, so to speak. How does it work at AWOrat?

AWOrat: Private users can register for free and can create ads for their weapons, equipment, and much more for free.

It's the same for clubs, so clubs can sell their no longer needed shooting equipment such as clay pigeon throwers, etc. at no cost. As a registered club, there is also a dedicated page on www.aworat.at that can be used as a club website and thus serves as a free web presence.

Commercial vendors have affordable AWO partner ad packages, there are no percentage fees or sales participation, etc.

The advantages are:

- Linking with a webshop/website allows for direct sale of products through the own webshop and better ranking in search engines of the website. AWOrat.at does not act as a seller or mediator of the products or earn from them.

SPARTANAT: Your site ends with .at. You are for Austrians. What about German customers who want to shop with you?

AWOrat: AWOrat.at is an Austrian marketplace. The World Wide Web is global and accessible to the whole world. The sales are, as mentioned before, not handled by us, but by our customers.

If they want to sell to a non-Austrian buyer, while complying with legal regulations, nothing stands in the way.

SPARTANAT: Who are your most important company partners? What do they get out of it?

AWOrat: Each of our AWO partners is important. Without them - no AWOrat.at. Of course, we recommend that you shop especially with them.

SPARTANAT: How often should one visit your site?

AWOrat: We recommend at least daily. There are new and interesting products on AWOrat.at every day.

If a specific product is being searched for and not immediately found on AWOrat.at, a search agent can be set up and activated. This automatically informs via email as soon as the product being sought is offered on AWOrat.at.
