DSEI 19: Heckler & Koch receives major order from Great Britain again

Successful trade fair visit to DSEI in London: Heckler & Koch returns with a major order from the British Ministry of Defense worth over 15 million British pounds and an option contract for an additional 50 million British pounds.

Heckler & Koch, through its British subsidiary NSAF Limited, has entered into a contractual agreement with the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom and will carry out the third upgrade of the British standard assault rifle SA80.

As part of the Equip to Fight program of the British Army, the weapon system will be upgraded to the SA80A3 variant. The upgrade includes a new foregrip, an improved upper receiver, additional safety features, and measures to reduce the weight of the assault rifle. Heckler & Koch will carry out the modifications at the plant in Oberndorf am Neckar, with system assembly taking place in the UK. The three-year contract now signed, with a total value of over 15 million British pounds, lays the foundation for this.

Furthermore, the contract includes the option to upgrade additional SA80 assault rifles as well as a two-year contract extension worth approximately 50 million British pounds.

The basis for the re-signing of the contract between the British Ministry of Defense and Heckler & Koch is the mutual trust of both parties in the proven professional cooperation and in the optimized weapon itself.
