ACQUISITION: RUAG Ammotec is taken over by BERETTA

With great pleasure, the BERETTA Holding announces that it has signed a binding agreement for the 100% acquisition of RUAG Ammotec, the leading European manufacturer and provider of small caliber ammunition and owner of renowned brands such as RWS, NORMA, ROTTWEIL and GECO. Pietro Gussalli Beretta, President and CEO of the BERETTA Holding, stated: "This is a very special moment in the history of our group, which has been working on this project for almost three years." During this time, we have clearly recognized that RUAG Ammotec culturally fits very well with us and there is a strong, competent and experienced management team in place, which will greatly facilitate the integration of RUAG Ammotec into our group. We warmly welcome the more than 2,700 new employees of RUAG Ammotec to our group." Pietro Gussalli Beretta also emphasized: "RUAG Ammotec and the companies of the BERETTA Holding group fit strategically very well together. We have the firearms and the optics, RUAG Ammotec has the ammunition; there is almost no overlap. In manufacturing, development, and distribution, we see - especially in the long term - strong synergies for our group, which are extremely important."

With RUAG Ammotec as part of the BERETTA Holding Group, we will strengthen our European business and further expand our global presence. "This new addition will enrich the existing portfolio of premium brands with a significant number of high-end brands," said Pietro Gussalli Beretta.

With the acquisition, the BERETTA Holding Group will grow to over 6,000 employees. At the same time, revenue will reach nearly 1.5 billion euros. Simultaneously, the group will add five production sites and a total of 16 new companies in 12 different countries to the BERETTA Group. It will now have more than 50 subsidiaries worldwide. Also, under the umbrella of the Beretta Holding, RUAG Ammotec will continue to supply high-quality ammunition to the German and Swiss armies. At the request of the Swiss government, the BERETTA Holding will support and maintain the existing locations. BERETTA Holding and RUAG Ammotec have started the process of obtaining the mandatory approvals for the acquisition. It is expected that the BERETTA Holding will fully acquire RUAG Ammotec within the next six months. No further details and conditions of the transaction are disclosed.
