Want some storm gear? We have an alternative opinion on that. AGILITE Gear is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. As a manufacturer of tactical equipment, the company follows the motto "Material for the Best from the Toughest Corner of the World". In order to live up to this ambitious goal, Agilite works closely with special forces units from the Israeli, US, and other armies.
We are particularly pleased to have gotten our hands on a piece of AGILITE Tech that we are presenting to you today: the AGILITE Assault Pack (A.M.A.P.) II.
The A.M.A.P. II is rectangular-wide cut, has a volume of 14L, and is available in four colors (Multicam, Black, Coyote, and Ranger Green). The Assault Pack can be attached to a Plate Carrier as well as worn as a regular backpack with shoulder straps. A nice detail to note is that Agilite Gear is not only designed in Israel, but also manufactured there... so 100% Made in Israel.
The front is dominated by a very spacious and flexible external compartment with mesh inserts, a Velcro field for patches, and the usual compression straps. The external compartment quickly and easily accommodates larger helmets with attachments due to its shape (as seen in the video).
We tested by stowing a lined (winter) softshell jacket in size L and were very impressed by the accessibility of this compartment. The mesh inserts on the sides provide ventilation/drying for stored equipment, as well as prevent annoying sand or water from collecting in the bottom area.
The most striking feature on the back is the large Velcro areas primarily used for attaching to a Plate Carrier. In "backpack mode," half of these are hidden under two folds, which additionally provide some stability to the back.
The special advantage is, of course, when you have the right Plate Carrier. The A.M.A.P. II can be mounted on all Plate Carriers with clips. Here it is in its natural habitat and attached to an Agilite PC.
The closure points of the buckles line up, and the Velcro especially comes into effect when the back of the K5 Plate Carrier and the back of the storm gear come together. This provides a quick connection, which is additionally secured by quick-release buckles. HERE we have the K5 Plate Carrier from AGILITE in the SPALTANAT Review.
The A.M.A.P. II is also designed to be flexible: On both sides, there are MOLLE attachment loops for attaching additional parts.
A really cool and super practical detail is the option to store excess compression straps on the A.M.A.P. II. These are designed as Velcro loops sewn directly to the end of the straps. Simply tighten the strap, roll up the end, and fasten it with the Velcro. Order must be maintained, not only for the IDF.
In the center at the top, there is also a generously sized opening for the hose of hydration systems. It passed our test with a bulky angle valve and dust cap with flying colors. If this opening is still too small, the interior can be accessed via 2 flaps covering nearly the entire top. Whether for antennas or cable connections, everything finds its way out here and is securely held in place by generous Velcro. The large radio also fits well in this storm gear.
Thanks to the double zipper running up to the bottom plate, the A.M.A.P. II can be loaded and unloaded without any hassle. Just open everything up! The main compartment shares the loading volume with a securing back pocket. Additionally, there is also a tension/compression strap to ensure everything stays in place even during rapid movement.
