Books & more: The Pistol in Combat

Until now, there was the classic "Firefight & Tactics" by Henning Hoffmann (which you really should have), now a new book has been published, which introduces the use of handguns. Andrea Micheli has studied shooting with trainers (including Gabe Suarez) in the USA. Together with his military background (Swiss armored grenadier) as well as his work for magazines (RAID Italy and K-ISOM), he makes for a readable specialist author, who introduces the topic of "The Pistol in Combat" here. It is clear, and the subtitle of the book also states, that Micheli can only convey "basics." Practical exercise is of course the key to a professional handling of the weapon.

Accompanied by mental preparation and firearm safety, Micheli extensively introduces the topic, provides tips on choosing the weapon and holster. He shows which positions are suitable for firing (even in emergencies) and how the shooter can ideally use cover and weapon light. Principles of firefighting are also covered as well as - importantly - Tactical First Aid.

Overall, a well-understood and highly recommended book has been created, which has been excellently illustrated (no wonder: Dominik André from the FLASHBANG magazine has professionally photographed). SPARTANAT recommended reading! And HERE is the SPARTANAT interview with author Andrea Micheli.
