REVIEW: LINDNERHOF TAKTIK Plate Carrier LT042/2

SPARTANAT already had the opportunity to introduce the new plate carrier from HERE. The latest on the market is the LT042/2. Here at SPARTANAT, we have exclusively tested the second generation of the LT042 model plate carrier.

The front side

The 20 mm wide Laser Cut MOLLE/PALS strips with Velcro® significantly reduce weight. In the upper section, there is a classic MOLLE/PALS webbing. The holding power of the narrower MOLLE/PALS strips is definitely there.

Modular panels such as MX234 Panel Front Multikaliber or Chest Rigs can be securely mounted on the large Velcro® surfaces.

Behind the upper Velcro® area on the front side is a flat Admin pocket. Ideal for storing flat items. The Velcro® area allows for the attachment of unit badges or other patches.

Velcro® Back Strips on the LT042/2 allow for the routing and management of cables or hydration tubes.

Longer cables are routed directly through the LT042/2. Via three user-separable bar tacks on the sides and top of the plate compartment.

Loops on the bottom of the front and back of the LT042/2 serve as attachment points for groin protection (only available for authorities).

The back side

In the upper area, there is the rescue/recovery handle and a Velcro® area with Laser Cut MOLLE/PALS slots. Several 20 mm wide rows of MOLLE/PALS loops allow for the attachment of additional modular equipment.

For further weight savings, the LT042/2 uses a skeletonized and double-layered waist belt. This provides three rows of MOLLE for additional modular equipment.

Both sides of the waist belt are connected on the back with a criss-crossed rubber cord. With this simple system, the user can adjust the LT042/2 to their size.

On the back, there is a zipper for attaching compatible backpacks or the LINDNERHOF TAKTIK Panel Rücken zippbar LT632. According to LINDNERHOF TAKTIK, these zippers are compatible with the most common systems from other manufacturers (e.g. CRYE).

The Release System

The patented Hook-Buckle release system by LINDNERHOF TAKTIK allows for quick release and dropping of the plate carrier LT042/2. A very well-thought-out and cool solution. No matter in which direction you pull the ITW Nexus Toggle, the plate can be quickly and stress-free dropped.

New is the quick release system at the top with a sturdy 25 mm Hook-Loop Buckle. The application is also possible with gloves. To open the buckle system, a strong pull on the cord is enough, which is additionally coated with a tube to prevent snagging.

The wide quick release system at the bottom on the side of the LT042/2. Simple and easy to use. The Buckle is simply the best, compared to other quick-release systems.

The Shoulder Straps

Adjustable in length, 50 mm wide shoulder straps (size M) connect the front and back of the LT042/2. The proven hybrid laminate is used here. MOLLE Laser Cut slots allow for the attachment of tourniquets, fasteners, and cable or hydration tube routing. The length adjustment is done thanks to the Velcro® areas on the inside of the shoulder straps.

Special Features

These loops on the inside of the front and back of the LT042/2 allow for attachment possibilities for rescue collars and larynx protection (accessories for authorities only). These are not carry handles for the plate carrier!

On the inside of the LT042/2, Velcro® areas are attached. The LT250 inner padding can be fixed on these areas.

The Plate Carrier

The plate compartment of the LT042/2 is designed for a SAPI L plate. Thanks to the integrated plate holder strap, smaller plates (SAPI M or NATO standard 25×30 cm) can also be used.

The plate holding strap secures the protective plate with Velcro®.

CONCLUSION

The LT042/2 is cut in a way that does not hinder or restrict the practical application and handling of operational equipment.

Thanks to the flat profile on the back, nothing gets caught. The wearer is not restricted in their freedom of movement.

The LT042/2 fits snugly against the body, allowing for a slim overall setup and plenty of freedom of movement.
