This is the twin brother of a rig that we have already reviewed: London Bridge Trading LBT-1961G differs in details from LBT-1961A. Therefore, we refer you generally to the Review of A. Here in the picture you can see the LBT-1961G from Lucky (thank you for the pictures!). In the middle, an MK141 grenade covers the gap where the zip makes the rig frontally divisible. Below, SPARTANAT shows you what LBT-1961G does differently compared to A...
The most important difference from G to A is the zipper that closes from top to bottom. With this zip, the rig can be opened frontally and can be easily put on and taken off. Simply open the zip and then slip in like a vest. With the A version, you have to step in from the side and then fasten the closures - or even beg for help from comrades.
The second major difference can be seen on the shoulders: there are velcroed cable tunnels and loops on the A version as well, but G also has additional MOLLE loops sewn onto the cable tunnel. This is very useful because it helps in attaching the PTT of the radio or the VIP lights.
Back down: after the rig is divided into two, the map pockets are also divided. The right one contains the tag with the type designation and production date.
The back of the LBT-1961G is not just mesh for fun: it also contains two horizontal pockets that can be connected to the swim bladder or buoyancy aid that can be stored there. It looks like this: the "Swim Bladder Insert" made of rubberized nylon provides buoyancy when soldiers wear the LBT-1961G in amphibious operations.
Details on the pockets: on the left is the compartment for the batteries of the radio, which is inserted behind it. Mounted on top is a grenade pouch. The magazine pockets each hold two magazines, for a total of eight. The compartments are secured with velcro and a closure.
CONCLUSION: LBT-1961G differs in details from LBT-1961A. The most essential difference is that the zip on the rig makes it a split vest, which makes it super easy to put on and take off. The other details correspond with the Review of 1961A.
The LBT-1961G is available directly from London Bridge Trading in various colors for $316.
