ILA Berlin 2024: The Skyranger Boxer

At the ILA, at booth Dis G / 006, Rheinmetall presents the Skyranger 30 turret on the armored 8x8-wheeled vehicle Boxer with integrated guided missile. With this combination, the air defense system is well-suited to decisively confront current and future threats.

In February 2024, Rheinmetall received a major order from the German federal government: From the end of 2024, the Düsseldorf-based technology group will supply Skyranger 30 based on the Boxer to the Bundeswehr. Also in the same month, the Austrian government also commissioned Rheinmetall to deliver Skyranger 30 to the Austrian Armed Forces - in this case on a different 6x6 platform (PANDUR).

As a hybrid solution, the Skyranger 30 turret combines the powerful 30mm x 173 KCE revolver cannon, surface-to-air guided missile, and necessary sensors on one platform. In Germany, the Skyranger 30 is equipped with the Stinger missile. The system is particularly suitable for drone defense due to the temperature-controlled 30mm airburst ammunition.
