It looks like an aircraft engine and is almost as loud, but it is much more useful. The SUPERHAILER is a speaker that transmits speech clearly and comprehensively up to 500 meters. So much better than the usual megaphone, which is just loud but you can't understand anything.

The SUPERHAILER is also slightly larger than the usual megaphone. Still very portable. It contains a lot of electronics that perfectly adjust the volume to the distance of the target to be sonicated. If someone steps in front of the SUPERHAILER during transmission, the volume is automatically reduced to a loud but not harmful level.

The SUPERHAILER is equipped with a camera and distance measuring system. The sound transmission does not work by simply speaking into it, but recorded messages and signal tones are played. 

As mentioned before, sound is emitted directionally. This happens in a narrow cone of about 15°. If you stand next to it, you hear the SUPERHAILER much quieter. Also, at the operator's end, you don't need to wear ear protection because the sound is only radiated forward. So it's no comparison to traditional megaphones. We were able to hear it in nature and it was unusual to understand speech completely clearly and loud at over 200 meters.
