Two calibers in one - 5.56 APM by IMI

The advantages of 5.56 millimeter and 7.62 millimeter ammunition combined in a new cartridge - that's what the new 5.56 APM ammunition from IMI Systems is said to have achieved.

And that's the power in small caliber: It is around 30 percent more accurate than conventional 7.62 mm caliber ammunition and can penetrate a 3.4 millimeter NATO steel plate up to a distance of 800 meters. They have achieved this through a new shape of the projectile. The propellant used has also been modified, and a new primer has been used.
