ZENTAURON: Camouflaged by day - and night!

ZENTAURON addresses the lack of emphasis on camouflage properties in military equipment, especially at night. They strive to enhance camouflage through materials with IRR coating and prints, ensuring better performance in visibility and night observation.

On a modern battlefield where thermal imaging devices are as small as cigarette packs and night vision devices are now commonplace, one would think that camouflage would also be highly valued at night. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Many superiors don't care about the camouflage properties of privately acquired equipment by their soldiers. But especially in "night work," this can quickly backfire. Many manufacturers do not incorporate infrared remission regulation into their products. These are also introduced by the Bundeswehr, apparently due to a lack of alternatives.

ZENTAURON wants to explain how they view this issue and present their concepts regarding camouflage - day and night - and the resulting protection:

We always try to plan and manufacture our equipment with a focus on camouflage - here a ZENTAURON ZFR Pack and a Bundeswehr medic backpack.

As one of the few manufacturers, ZENTAURON use visibly printed webbing in the respective camouflage prints. This significantly increases the camouflage of modular equipment, as the MOLLE strapping, in particular, stands out due to its parallel arrangement.

Camouflage at night is vital

Camouflage at night is particularly important and many pieces of equipment have glaring deficiencies in this area. Under observation through night vision, the equipment does not forgive any mistakes. Backpacks that brightly reflect moonlight, buckles and snaps that serve as reflectors, webbing that creates parallel stripes on the equipment, all of these can cost the troop dearly in an emergency.

This issue is unfortunately not given enough attention. How else can it be explained that even the service provider issues backpacks to its soldiers without adequate IR protection?

Equipment at the highest level should not compromise on camouflage - above in the image: a ZENTAURON ZFR Pack compared to a Bundeswehr medic backpack. Not only with fabrics and camouflage prints for the visible daylight range, but especially for IRR camouflage at night. That is why we at ZENTAURON strive to get the best out of our products by selecting the right materials.

This goal is of course costly, as materials with IRR coating or camouflage prints are noticeably more expensive. However, the soldier receives equipment from ZENTAURON that shows significantly better performance in terms of camouflage than conventionally produced goods. Always including camouflage against observation through night vision.
