Welcome to the city - New UF PRO Urban Line

09/27/2017By Redaktion

UF PRO has already revolutionized the military/law enforcement sector with clothing that is as functional as it is highly recognizable. Now, the quality manufacturer is launching a new clothing line that we were able to preview at the IWA 2017. The rugged, civilian-looking tactical clothing is designed for the "urban jungle," as functional, inconspicuous EDC clothing.

The UF PRO Urban Line - HERE is the link to the collection - includes pants, jacket, T-shirt, and polo shirt. All are made from advanced materials that feel soft like cotton, but can withstand the most adverse and persistent weather conditions such as rain or cold weather.

"The Urban Line offers the best of everything," says Armin Wagner, head of UF PRO product development. "Urban brings the performance you would expect from great tactical clothing. It is incredibly comfortable, you can wear it all year round, it looks fantastic, and it is designed to not stand out from a crowd."

UF PRO® P-40 Urban Pants

The UF PRO P-40 Urban Pants are based on the popular UF PRO P-40 pants. Key features of the P-40 Urban Pants include excellent freedom of movement, comfortable fit, superior knee protection, and the ability to adapt to the seasons, according to Wagner.

"Our P-40 Urban Pants combine a robust rip-stop material with an advanced stretch material from Schoeller," explains the gear designer. "The pants remain remarkably resilient and stretchy because this hybrid material is strategically placed where it benefits you most."

Wagner adds that the Urban P-40 pants remain comfortable during the summer months due to the material's breathability. In winter, a WINDSTOPPER® lining - the same one used for the tactical line - makes them cold-weather ready.

UF PRO® M1 Field Jacket

The well-thought-out UF PRO M1 Field Jacket follows the design of the U.S. Army M41 Field Jacket from the Second World War era, but includes several forward-looking improvements, according to Wagner.

One of the biggest updates is the use of EtaProof® material, a high-tech cotton. The material makes the jacket breathable and permanently water-repellent at the same time.

"The EtaProof® fabric is based on very thin threads. These threads are spun and twisted before being woven into an extremely dense plain weave," explains Armin Wagner. "When the material - for example in the rain - gets wet, it absorbs the water vapor, swells, and thus almost completely closes the spaces between the individual threads. This keeps the water mostly out."

The jacket also offers a variety of internal pockets and integrated loops to securely carry small pieces of equipment - even a sidearm. Wagner adds that the jacket, like the pants, can transition from a summer to a winter garment. For this purpose, there is a lining made of Merino wool.

UF PRO® P-40 Shirts

Two shirts complete the UF PRO Urban Line. These include a casual T-shirt and a polo shirt, according to Wagner.

Both are made from a 37.5™ polyester-cotton blend fabric, giving them remarkable comfort and robustness.

"It is a 'wash and wear' material," explains the UF PRO designer. "You simply throw your P-40 Urban T-shirt or polo shirt into the washing machine, hang it up to dry overnight, and put it on wrinkle-free the next morning - no ironing needed. And the 37.5™ technology makes the fabric the fastest drying of its kind." In addition, the fabric offers excellent odor-resistant properties and improved UV protection.
