Busch PROtective:

When a Helmet Saves a Life

Busch PROtective is commemorating the anniversary of a significant incident by releasing a white paper on the protective performance of ballistic helmets. Highlighting a real-world case where a DEA agent survived two 9-mm hits, the paper examines key factors such as rebound deformation and multi-hit performance. Law enforcement agencies are invited to participate in live-fire workshops.

TACWRK would like to draw your attention today to a special initiative by Busch PROtective. To mark the first anniversary of an extraordinary incident, the ballistics specialist is publishing a new white paper on the real-world protective performance of ballistic helmets and is inviting law enforcement agencies to experience the protective performance of its helmet systems firsthand.

Two hits. Both stopped. In August 2025, a DEA Special Agent was struck twice in the head from a distance of about 1.5 meters. Both 9-mm bullets struck his Busch PROtective AMP-1 TP helmet less than 2.5 centimeters apart. The helmet stopped both bullets. The agent remained operational and completed the operation.

The new white paper analyzes this real-world SAVE and explains the key factors: rebound deformation, multi-hit performance, and the differences between aramid and UHMWPE.

White paper read it here now.

Experience ballistics live. In connection with this special anniversary, Busch PROtective invites law enforcement agencies and users to hands-on live-fire workshops where the ballistic performance of the helmet systems is demonstrated firsthand.

Interested law enforcement agencies can contact our B2G team directly for more information and customized arrangements, or submit a direct inquiry here. Your TACWRK B2G Team
