US SOF tests SIG Sauer's MCX Rattler

USSOCOM procured ten Sig Sauer Conversion Kits to test the functionality of the MCX Rattler systems, addressing the need for a compact rifle that can shoot .300 Blackout and 5.56mm ammunition. The kits will be delivered to the Navy Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indiana, likely for SEAL units. Read more at the provided link. Visit SIG Sauer's website for more information and images.

USSOCOM recently acquired ten Conversion Kits from Sig Sauer. These kits will be used to test how well MCX Rattler systems function, as there has been a long-standing need for a compact rifle that can fire both .300 Blackout and 5.56×45 millimeter ammunition. It is also interesting to note that the kits will be delivered to the U.S. Navy Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane Indiana, a facility known for ensuring that new weapons end up with SEAL units – in this specific case, probably DEVGRU.
