The US military faces challenges beyond COVID-19, with survivors now facing recruitment hurdles due to potential long-term effects. A recent memo states that previous diagnosis is disqualifying.
In the U.S. military, the fight is not only against Corona. They are also thinking about what to do with the survivors. This has drastic consequences for recruitment: According to a recently published MEPCOM memo circulating on Twitter, a previous COVID-19 diagnosis is no longer processable. "During the medical history interview or examination, a previous COVID-19 diagnosis, confirmed either by laboratory test or clinical diagnosis, is permanently disqualifying …“, the memo states. Drastic outcome: no service in the U.S. military if one has been ill. This is probably also due to the fact that there are still no clear statements on long-term effects of COVID-19. The military is traditionally cautious about these matters. HERE is the full story on Military Times.
