The US Army is investing around 107 million US dollars in the delivery of new ENVG-B systems (Enhanced Night Vision Goggle - Binocular) plus spare parts, logistical support, and test equipment. The order will be delivered in 2023 and 2024.
The ENVG-B is equipped with high-performance image intensifier tubes with white phosphorus, providing better contrast and enabling soldiers to have better situational awareness in darkness, as well as in fog, dust, or smoke. The ENVG-B system features a wireless connection to the soldier's rifle-mounted thermal imaging device and an augmented reality overlay that allows for quick target acquisition and improved situational awareness in various battlefield conditions.
