US Air Force Pilots receive M4 in the ejection seat

It's been almost 2 years since we reported HERE that US Air Force pilots are to receive an M4 for the emergency exit. GAU-5A is the official designation of the rifle and it fits in the ejection seat. This is made possible by a quick release, allowing the weapon to be disassembled in two parts. The rifle can be assembled and made ready for use in under 60 seconds. Included in the pilots' survival kit are four magazines with a total of 120 rounds of ammunition. 2700 units were delivered by the Air Force Gunsmith Shop.
