Unity Tactical now available at IEA Mil-Optics

02/11/2022By Redaktion

At IEA Mil-Optics, you can now get the FAST Mounts from Unity Tactical. The advantage of these mounts is the height of the optical sight axis of approximately 60 mm. This allows for a quicker acquisition of the reticle when wearing hearing protection/headsets, night vision goggles, gas masks. An upright posture also helps the user maintain a neutral spinal position, which is more comfortable when wearing helmets, plate carriers, and other heavy equipment.

The FAST™ Riser is required to raise a "lower 1/3" optic to an optical axis height of 60 mm. The riser features an elevated M1913 Picatinny rail for direct mounting of optics such as EOTech EXPS®, Leupold LCO®, Vortex UH-1®, and other "lower 1/3" optics. It is also suitable for "absolute cowitness" optics like EOTech XPS®, Sig Sauer Romeo8H®, etc. However, compatibility with the FAST™ FTC mount is limited.

The FAST™ FTC mount features the first Flip-To-Center (FTC) mechanism, allowing the magnifier to be fully aligned with the axis of the weapon housing without affecting the field of view of the optic. Here is the review of the version for Aimpoint Magnifier. The revolutionary FTC function solves the problem with conventional mounts, where the magnification protrudes laterally from the weapon, potentially making handling difficult when folded. The FAST™ FTC mount can be easily folded by overcoming a pressure point. Additional unlocking is not necessary.

The mount was specifically designed for the L-3 EOTech® G33 Magnifier - REVIEW here -. Noticeable is the overhead mounting of the optic in the mount. This creates a slimmer silhouette, as the upper adjustment now neatly houses the G33 in the gap between the weapon and optic. The reversed position of the magnification does not affect the function or performance of the system.
