Ukrainian forces are said to have targeted four Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile launchers, an S-500 air defense system, and a Kilo-class submarine of the Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) in Rostov-on-Don on August 2nd on the occupied Crimea.

The Ukrainian General Staff announced on August 3rd that four Russian S-400 missile launchers had been heavily damaged in unspecified areas of the occupied Crimea during the attacks. Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Captain Dmytro Pletenchuk stated the same day that Ukrainian forces had successfully destroyed a Russian S-400 and S-500 air defense system that was being used by the Russian military to protect the bridge over the Kerch Strait. The ISW has not observed any visual evidence of Ukrainian forces targeting Russian air defense systems in the occupied Crimea on August 2nd.
