On July 29th and 30th, Russian forces conducted five mechanized attacks ranging from platoon to battalion size in the western Donetsk area. These localized mechanized advances are likely indicative of the planned Russian summer offensive.
The Russian forces likely do not possess the larger operational capacities to conduct a standalone new offensive operation in the Donetsk area or elsewhere on the front this summer. Geolocated imagery released on July 29th shows Russian forces conducting a mechanized attack of reinforced battalion size easily penetrating into the southwestern outskirts of Kostyantynivka (southwest of Donetsk).
