The pro-Russian breakaway Moldovan region of Transnistria held its seventh Congress of Transnistrian Deputies on February 28 and adopted a series of resolutions that are likely intended to serve as a justification for a wide range of possible escalation measures against Moldova by the Kremlin - measures that the Kremlin could take both in the short term and in the long term.

The Transnistrian Deputies Congress adopted seven resolutions, including a request to the Russian State Duma and the Federation Council for Russian "defense" of Transnistria in response to the alleged increasing pressure from Moldova. Transnistrian officials explicitly used the word "zashchita" (защита) in their request, which means both "defense" and "protection" in Russian.

The Russian armed forces confirmed advances near Svatove, Avdiivka, and Donetsk City.
