The Kremlin reaffirms its support for Iran as the US thwarts attacks on American and other targets by Iran-supported proxies in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned on February 3 the US retaliatory strikes against positions of Iran-supported militias in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. Following the drone attack by an Iran-backed Iraqi militia on January 28, which killed three US soldiers in northeastern Jordan, the US carried out a series of retaliatory strikes on February 2 and 3 against targets in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
