Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully conducted drone attacks on targets in Leningrad and Tula Oblasts, potentially disabling Russian air defense systems. Reports suggest attacks on key industrial plants and a gas terminal; more details in Russian Offensive Update 698 by UNDERSTANDING WAR.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly conducted successful drone attacks on targets in the Leningrad and Tula Oblasts, where repeated Ukrainian drone attacks could disable Russian short-range air defense systems defending potentially important targets along planned flight routes.
Ukrainian media, citing anonymous sources within Ukrainian special forces, report that Ukrainian forces conducted drone attacks on the Shcheglovsky Val plant in the city of Tula (Tula region) and on the "Nowateka" plant and the gas terminal near the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) on the night of January 20 to 21. The plant in Shcheglovsky Val is said to produce the Pantsir-S and Pantsir-S1 air defense systems, while the complex in Ust-Luga processes stable gas condensate into light and heavy naphtha, diesel, kerosene, and marine fuel.
