The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief General Valerii Saljuschin have expressed their intention to strengthen Ukrainian defense facilities and fortifications throughout the Ukrainian war zone, but did not include Zaporizhzhia Oblast in discussions about ongoing and future defense measures. Zelensky stated on November 30 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would reinforce their fortifications in all critical directions of the front, including the Kupjansk-Lyman line, the oblasts in northern and western Ukraine, and the Kherson region, but emphasized in particular the directions of Avdiivka and Marinka as well as other areas of Donetsk Oblast.
