A hurricane in the Black Sea and in Southern Ukraine has caused damage to infrastructure in many areas along the southern Russian coast and in occupied Ukraine, affecting the rhythm of military operations along the frontline in Ukraine, but not completely halting military activities.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, both Russian and Ukrainian forces continue their ground assaults throughout Ukraine, albeit somewhat slowed down due to the snow and resulting poor visibility. Russian military observers note that heavy snowfall and wind are affecting visibility and hindering air reconnaissance and artillery towards Kherson, while Ukrainian forces took advantage of the poor visibility to strengthen their positions on the eastern (left) bank of the Dnipro River. The difficult winter conditions will force both sides to rely more heavily on infantry assaults on the ground in the absence of air reconnaissance and artillery.
