The Russian military transferred Black Sea Fleet ships from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk to protect them from Ukrainian attacks. Satellite images showed movement of frigates, submarines, landing ships, and missile ships. The Russian Offensive Update 590 is available from UNDERSTANDING WAR.
The Russian military recently moved several ships of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) from the port of occupied Sevastopol in Crimea to the port of Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar region, presumably to protect them from the ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian facilities in occupied Crimea.

On October 1 and 3, satellite images showed that the Russian forces moved at least 10 ships from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk (image above). The satellite images are said to show that the Russian forces recently moved the frigates Admiral Makarov and Admiral Essen, three diesel submarines, five landing ships, and several small missile ships. Satellite images from October 2 show four Russian landing ships and a Kilo-class submarine remaining in Sevastopol. Satellite images from October 2 show a Project 22160 patrol ship reportedly in the port of Feodosia in the east of Crimea for the first time.
The complete Russian Offensive Update 590 is available directly from UNDERSTANDING WAR.
