The ongoing counteroffensive in Ukraine has resulted in operations in multiple sectors, with varying levels of success. Ukrainian forces have made tactical gains in the Bakhmut and western Donetsk areas, but have not made progress in the Zaporizhia oblast. As part of the counteroffensive that has been ongoing since Sunday, June 4, Ukraine has conducted operations in at least three sectors of the front with varying results.
Ukrainian officials report that Ukrainian forces in the Bakhmut sector have transitioned from defensive to offensive operations, advancing between 200 meters and nearly two kilometers at the flanks of the city. Since June 4, Ukrainian forces have made tactical gains in limited local counterattacks in the western Donetsk area near the Donetsk-Zaporizhia border. Additionally, on the night of June 7-8, Ukrainian forces carried out an attack in the western Zaporizhia oblast, but as of the publication of this report, they do not appear to have made any progress.
