The Kremlin is likely to adopt elements of the Belarusian Defense Industry (DIB) as part of Moscow's broader efforts to upgrade the Russian military to support a prolonged war against Ukraine.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on February 17, stated that the Belarusian aerospace industry is ready to produce Su-25 ground attack aircraft for the Russian military with the help of Russian technology transfers. Lukashenko also mentioned that the state-owned Belarusian automobile plant in Minsk has started producing components for Russian KAMAZ products (a Russian manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks) and expressed willingness to assist Russia in producing electronic components to replace lost Western imports. Additionally, Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus is implementing 100% of unspecified agreements on defense and security cooperation that Belarus and Russia signed "three months ago."
