Ukrainian Armed Forces make significant advances in Kherson Oblast, Kharkiv, and Luhansk Oblasts, capturing settlements and cutting off Russian lines of communication. Russian attempts to reinforce thwarted.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces achieved further significant successes in the Kherson Oblast on October 4, while simultaneously advancing in the Kharkiv and Luhansk Oblasts.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to liberate several settlements on the eastern bank of the Inhulets River along the T2207 highway, forcing Russian forces to retreat south towards the city of Kherson. Ukrainian forces continue their advance south along the Dnipro River and the T0403 highway, cutting off two Russian ground lines of communication (GLOCs) in the north of the Kherson Oblast and pushing the Russians south of the border between the Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions towards the Berislav area.
Ukrainian military officials noted that the Ukrainian encirclement campaign thwarted Russian attempts to bring additional ammunition, reserves, mobilized men, and defense assets to the front lines. Ukrainian forces also continued to advance east of the Oskil River in the Kharkiv region, with reports of ongoing clashes near the R66 Svatove-Kreminna highway according to Russian sources.
