Russian ground troops around Kyiv and Kharkiv are facing logistical and morale issues, with failed advances in other regions. The Ukrainian General Staff anticipates Russian shifts towards attacks on civilians.
The Russian ground troops attempting to encircle and capture Kyiv have taken another pause on March 11 to resupply and re-equip their combat units following failed attacks from March 8 to 10.
Also, Russian forces appear to be largely stalemated around Kharkiv. Russian advances from Crimea towards Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia, as well as in the east around Donetsk and Luhansk, made no progress in the last 24 hours, and Russian forces in the south are facing growing morale and logistical problems.
The Ukrainian General Staff stated that Russia has not yet achieved its territorial objectives and is likely to increasingly shift towards attacks on civilian targets and psychological operations to undermine civilian support for the Ukrainian government. Uncoordinated and sporadic Russian offensive operations against Ukrainian major cities support the assessment by the Ukrainian General Staff that Russian forces are facing increasing morale and logistics problems and have lost the initiative. The Ukrainian General Staff declared on March 11 that Ukrainian forces "are actively defending and conducting successful counterattacks in all directions," but did not specify where the reported counterattacks are taking place.
