UKRAINE: THE SITUATION 202 – SEPTEMBER 9, 2022

The Ukrainian successes on the Kharkiv city-Isium line are causing cracks in the Russian information space and undermining confidence in the Russian leadership to a degree not seen since a failed Russian river crossing in mid-May.

Ukrainian forces in the Kharkiv region approached within 20 kilometers of Russia's important logistical hub Kupyansk on September 8, which was evacuated by the Russians. This severely affects the Russian Ground Lines of Communication (GLOCs) to Izyum. Izyum itself appears to be surrounded on three sides by the Ukrainians.

Ukrainian forces continue to target Russian GLOCs, command and control points, and ammunition depots in the Kherson Oblast.
