The Russian President Vladimir Putin signed two decrees on August 27 to make life and work in the Russian Federation easier for stateless people and residents of Donbass and Ukraine. The first decree allows residents of Donbass, Ukrainians, and stateless individuals to live and work in Russia indefinitely. The decree also permits residents of Ukraine and Donbass to work in Russia without permission, as long as they obtain an ID card within 30 days of the August 27 decree. The decree also mandates that all residents of Donbass and Ukraine entering Russia must undergo mandatory registration of their fingerprints and a medical examination for drug use, psychotropic substances, infectious diseases, and HIV.
The Russian armed forces have conducted unsuccessful offensive operations northwest of Slovyansk.
Russian forces carried out limited ground attacks southeast of Bakhmut, as well as west and southwest of the city of Donetsk.
Russian forces conducted a limited ground assault north of the city of Kharkiv.
