On August 18, 2022, no new territorial gains were claimed by Russian forces in Ukraine, marking a significant change from previous days. Despite limited ground attacks, no significant progress was made.
On August 18, 2022, for the first time since July 6, 2022, there were no claimed or confirmed Russian territorial gains in Ukraine.
Russian and Ukrainian sources indicated that on August 18, there were no new territorial gains. However, Russian forces conducted limited and unsuccessful ground attacks on the eastern axis on August 18. Russian sources reported a series of unidentified and unconfirmed explosions in Crimea on the night of August 18.
