The integration of an equipment backpack or a back panel into a plate carrier allows for immediate access to gear, optimizes freedom of movement in tight spaces, and ensures a balanced weight distribution. This eliminates the tangle of conventional backpack straps, allowing you to adjust your gear flexibly without compromising shooting positions or quick movements. The Turtle Pack ZP from TASMANIAN TIGER is a slim, modular 7-liter accessory backpack designed specifically for tactical operations. Seamless integration into compatible carrying systems is possible through the TT-ZP system (Zip Panel).

The Turtle 50 Pack ZP has dimensions of 37 × 23 × 14 cm and a volume of 7 liters, designed for the safe transport of compact, mission-critical equipment. The total weight is 572 grams. It is made from 500 Den Cordura. This is a durable and rugged material that offers high abrasion and tear resistance while maintaining controlled weight. All load-bearing areas are designed for permanent use.

This compartment serves as a tool pocket on the Turtle 50 Pack ZP.

Thanks to its expandable tool pocket, which accommodates long tools such as bolt cutters up to 80 cm in length, it is ideal for MOE/Breach and special forces.

We once consulted in a hardware store to determine which size of bolt cutters best fit in the Turtle 50 Pack ZP. A bolt cutter with 50 mm fits completely inside the pocket, while a 63 mm model sticks out enough to be easily and quickly removed.

The user can grab the tools themselves if they are long enough. Otherwise, the team buddy assists.

When the tool pocket is not in use, the attached MOLLE straps can be inserted into a MOLLE/PALS loop on the plate carrier.

This allows the Turtle 50 Pack ZP to fit even closer and more securely against the plate carrier.

The lid has a zipper, behind which is a compartment.

On the front, there is a Velcro area for name tags and identification badges. The Velcro area also has a light stick pocket.

The lid can be opened via WJ buckles located on the outside of the lid. There is enough webbing available for the lid to adapt to the volume of the Turtle 50 Pack ZP pack.

Inside the lid, there are four rubber loops. Space for pens or light sticks.

The front has a zipper secured with a snap button.

With bungee cord, the size of the main compartment can be adjusted.

The cord stoppers are inside the Turtle Pack ZP. Additionally, the bungee cord can be completely removed.

The integrated MOLLE Velcro areas allow for individually customizable interior organization.

There are two flat zippered mesh pockets and two open pockets with drainage holes on each inner side.

A tunnel is placed behind the mesh pocket to store additional equipment.

The Turtle Pack ZP has loops for a 1-liter or 2-liter drinking bladder. There is no additional passage for the drinking tube.

The bag can be seamlessly attached to plate carriers, such as the TT Plate Carrier QR LC ZP, using the ZP zipper system, ensuring a secure, wobble-free fit during active movement.

The 24 cm long Vislon zippers of size #10 operate reliably even when dirty, wet, or cold. There is a distance of 25 cm between the zippers.

The zipper strip is compatible with plate carriers that utilize MOLLE/PALS. You only need six MOLLE loops. Attaching these parts is quick and easy, and can be done on any type of plate carrier.

The thermoplastic teeth fit into the MOLLE/PALS loops or existing channels. It is particularly suitable for newer plate carriers with laser cut features.

The Velcro ensures that the Turtle Pack ZP fits securely on the plate carrier and does not slip. This requires that the plate carrier used has a compatible soft Velcro surface on its back.

The Turtle Pack ZP  is highly adaptable. That’s why TASMANIAN TIGER has included two MOLLE straps. This allows it to be adjusted to the respective plate carrier.

Everything is firmly in place.

Additional MOLLE straps and attachments ensure that the Turtle Pack ZP remains securely on the plate carrier and forms a unit. The Turtle Pack ZP adapts to every movement and does not tear off.

CONCLUSION

The Turtle Pack ZP by TASMANIAN TIGER is highly praised for its ultra-flat profile, making it an excellent choice for operators who are mobile or on the move in vehicles and do not want to be hindered by a bulky backpack. The expandable special compartment is a unique feature of this product. It was designed for carrying long and heavy breaching tools like bolt cutters or battering rams. The ZP zipper system ensures a remarkably stable and wobble-free attachment, and the backpack can be quickly removed or exchanged. The absence of MOLLE loops on the front, while limiting the attachment of extensive external pockets, does not detract from the Bungee cord compression and the laser-cut MOLLE Velcro fields inside, which offer numerous customized organization options for mission-critical gear.

The Turtle Pack ZP by TASMANIAN TIGER is available in Black, Olive Green, Coyote, and in the “IRR” version, starting at a price of 115 euros. It is available in all specialty stores that carry products from TASMANIAN TIGER.
