At the ENFORCE TAC 2026 in Nuremberg, TASMANIAN TIGER presented the Modular Chest Rig Pack. This pack is a rear attachment unit originally designed for the flat harness of the Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 but is versatile in its applications. It can be used as a compact backpack, as the back panel of a plate carrier, or as part of a complete chest rig system. We present the Modular Chest Rig Pack and its possible uses here, which you can utilize in various ways.

The Modular Chest Rig Pack measures 420 × 250 × 65 mm, is made of durable Cordura 500 fabric, and weighs only 1.04 kg. It offers a variable volume of 12 to 20 liters, adapting to the needs of the users.

On the front, there are three external front pockets with zippers. All three pockets feature Daisy Chains. The top pocket has a Velcro area measuring 140 x 90 mm where patches, name tags, etc., can be attached. The volume of the outer pockets is 2 x 1.5 l and 1 x 1 l.

A two-way zipper provides access to the interior of the front pockets. Inside, they are equipped with black loop Velcro. How the pockets are organized is left up to the user.

We access the narrow main compartment through a two-way zipper.

The main compartment features a Velcro area on the side facing the body inside. The design of the interior can be individually customized by the user according to their needs.

This side is also designed to accommodate a hydration system, as the bladder must remain accessible during use. There are corresponding hangers available.

Here is also the insert pocket for SAPI plates up to size M, which measure 30 x 25 cm.

On the opposite side, there are two flat, transparent pockets that can hold smaller items and utensils.

A surrounding zipper allows the volume to be varied from 12 to 20 liters. The Modular Chest Rig Pack can therefore also be used as an EDC or daypack.

The carrying handle enables easy handling.

The flat shoulder straps can be adjusted in length.

They are designed to be flat to reduce weight and integrate into the shoulder pads of chest rigs and plate carriers.

Additionally, they can be completely removed from the top and bottom.

The Modular Chest Rig Pack can be attached to MOLLE/PALS-compatible plate carriers using the MOLLE straps attached to the back.

At the lowest point of the backpack, there is a drainage eyelet, also referred to as a water drainage hole, drain hole, or eyelet at the bottom. It serves to allow moisture and wetness to escape from the interior in a controlled manner.

Application Options

The Modular Chest Rig Pack is versatile. Whether as a backpack, panel, or rig component – the application options are varied. The package includes extensive materials for any necessary modifications. We show it to you here.

The simplest and quickest option is to use it as a backpack – whether with 12 or 20 liters.

The Modular Chest Rig Pack can be firmly mounted on a plate carrier using the MOLLE loops.

This makes it possible to carry heavy equipment such as a bolt cutter, large communication batteries, etc.

Another option is the attachment to a plate carrier using the supplied adapter. Here, TASMANIAN TIGER uses high-quality buckles and accessories from Woojin. The QASM buckles are attached to the front of the plate carrier, while the Click-In buckles are attached to the waistband.

The upper part of the shoulder straps is removed. The carrying straps are then hooked into a small strap loop below the D-ring using the snap hooks.

The carrying straps are clicked in at the top and the lower part of the original shoulder strap is clicked into the counterpart on the waistband.

If the contents of the backpack are needed, the buckles can be released on one side. This allows the backpack to be brought forward.

The Modular Chest Rig Pack was specifically designed as a back piece for the Modular Chest Rig 4x4M. The shoulder straps with shoulder pads can be precisely connected. In this case, the carrying system of the Modular Chest Rig is completely removed. It doesn't matter whether the chest rig is equipped with or without a front flap for ballistic protection.

On the side of the Modular Chest Rig Pack, there are small D-rings. A webbing strap with a Woojin snap buckle is attached to this.

The counterparts for the buckles are already present on the Modular Chest Rig 4x4M. The lower part of the shoulder strap of the Modular Chest Rig Pack as well as the strap mounted by us from the previous image can be inserted into these.

CONCLUSION

The Modular Chest Rig Pack from TASMANIAN TIGER is designed for the Modular Chest Rig 4x4M from the same brand. However, this backpack is modularly usable. It can be used as a normal backpack or as a fixed station on a plate carrier, and it also enhances the protection of the chest rig wearer with the inserted ballistic plates. Thanks to the supplied materials, this modular backpack can be tailored to the needs of the user. This increases the operational value of the Modular Chest Rig Pack, leading to an optimization of functionality and efficiency. And yes, the Modular Chest Rig Pack initially resembles the HALEY STRATEGIC Flat Pack, but the Modular Chest Rig Pack is significantly more thought out and versatile in use.

The Modular Chest Rig Pack from TASMANIAN TIGER is available in Olive, Coyote, Black, Multicam, and as an IRR version starting at 155 euros from all retailers that carry the brand – such as STEINADLER.
