The requirements for a tourniquet pouch are designed for speed, reliability, and robustness, as it is a life-saving equipment component. In an emergency, the tourniquet must be immediately accessible. The pouch must securely encase the tourniquet and protect it from UV radiation, dirt, moisture, and mechanical damage. The dimensions should be compatible with the most common models of tourniquets. TASMANIAN TIGER is known for its developments in this area and has introduced the Tourniquet Pouch III at the trade fair ENFORCE TAC 2026. We will take a detailed look at it today.

The storage pouch for tourniquets measures 140 × 65 × 35 mm, weighs 48 g, and is made of Cordura 500d. The IRR version of the Tourniquet Pouch III is made from Cordura 700d IRR and features straps that are also IRR-reduced. These materials meet the TL requirements of the Bundeswehr and comparable NATO guidelines for minimizing infrared visibility.

Using the MOLLE reverse system on the back, the pouch can be attached flat and slip-resistant. This is possible on plate carriers, medic backpacks, or belts. Since only a MOLLE loop is needed, the pouch is particularly space-saving and thus suitable for slim or concealed carry systems.

The "TQ" marking on the front flap of the Tourniquet Pouch III provides a quick indication of what is inside the pouch.

The front flap is secured with a snap button, providing additional safety. This ensures that the pouch remains reliably closed even during intense movement or in tight operational environments.

The pouch opens via hook-and-loop fastener, allowing the tourniquet to be quickly removed in an emergency.

Two elastic fixation loops hold the tourniquet securely in position on the inside. Four additional attachment loops provide further organization options. They allow for individual organization and the carrying of additional medical products.

The side attachment loop offers space for writing instruments or light sticks.

The Tourniquet Pouch III has been specifically developed for the Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet (TMT) from COMBAT MEDICAL. However, it is also suitable for all other compatible tourniquets. The Tourniquet Pouch III is best suited for TMT, SOF-T, and SICH tourniquets. Tourniquets from brands such as CAT, SKALA MEDICAL, DNIPRO, SAM, and RHINO RESCUE are too large, however.

CONCLUSION

The Tourniquet Pouch III from TASMANIAN TIGER is a very interesting product due to its design, materials, and craftsmanship. The pouch is designed to optimally protect the tourniquet from extreme weather conditions, dirt, and mud. The only disadvantage we noticed is that not all tourniquets available on the market fit into this pouch. The pouch was designed for the TMT Tourniquet, which is not yet well known and widespread in Europe. We wish it could accommodate most tourniquets. Nevertheless, the Tourniquet Pouch III can be recommended for the safe transport of a tourniquet.

The Tourniquet Pouch III from TASMANIAN TIGER is available in Olive, Coyote, and Black as well as in an IRR version from 18 Euros at all retailers that carry the brand, such as STEINADLER.
