Together with Lockheed Martin, Rheinmetall has presented a world first in the field of combat vehicles at the DSEI 2025 trade fair: the Fuchs JAGM is a highly mobile combat vehicle designed to combat a wide range of threats on land and in the air.
The Fuchs JAGM is the world's first vehicle equipped with 24 vertically launched AGM-179 Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) or AGM-114L HELLFIRE Longbow guided missiles from Lockheed Martin. In combination with its state-of-the-art sensor package, it can detect and engage multiple threats on the battlefield at any time. The Fuchs JAGM is thus capable of engaging up to 24 battle tanks, as well as air targets in rapid succession without reloading.
JAGM is a multi-sensor missile that can also be fired in ground-to-ground and ground-to-air applications. The missile has a range of up to 16 kilometres and features a tandem shaped charge fragmentation warhead. The JAGM's multimode seeker, which has been proven in numerous flight tests, features an improved semi-active laser sensor (SAL) for precision strikes and a fire-and-forget millimetre wave radar (MMW) for moving targets in all weather conditions. The JAGM thus offers improved performance against stationary and moving armoured targets, air defence systems, patrol boats, air targets, artillery guns and launchers, radar installations and C2 nodes, as well as bunkers and other structures in urban and complex terrain.
The Fuchs Evolution, the latest version of Rheinmetall's battle-proven and reliable 6x6 armoured transport vehicle, serves as the carrier vehicle for the system.
With more than sixty variants in service in over nine countries, the Fuchs has earned an excellent reputation worldwide. The latest Fuchs variant features an improved powertrain with ABS and CTIS, a modern digital electrical system and a digital vehicle architecture in accordance with NATO Generic Vehicle Architecture (NGVA). The vehicle offers a high level of protection against ballistic and CBRN threats. It is also designed for higher payloads. Integrated test equipment (BITE) with interactive maintenance procedures and external vehicle diagnostics facilitates fleet management. The enlarged interior provides greater driving and operating comfort.
