RAROG Tactical Gear has developed a modern ballistic suit designed for soldiers, featuring a modular protection system from head to knees based on the L500 body armor vest. The suit includes a helmet, neck protection, shoulder pads, and an armored skirt, offering enhanced protection and mobility, reminiscent of medieval Japanese armor.
Oh, they sure have pretty skirts in Ukraine. Well, necessity is the mother of invention: In this video, we take a look at a new concept from RAROG Tactical Gear—a modern ballistic suit designed to provide soldiers with maximum protection against shrapnel while maintaining mobility and comfort.
At the heart of the concept is a modular ballistic protection system from head to knees, built around the L500 body armor vest. The kit includes a new helmet, upgraded neck protection, ballistic shoulder pads, side panels, and an armored skirt, which form a continuous protective contour with a minimal number of vulnerable areas.

If the design looks familiar to you: yes, it does look a bit like Japanese armor. It just goes to show that similar problems call for similar solutions. The protection for the neck and lower abdomen in modern armor from RAROG is similar to the protective elements used in medieval Japan.
