The Italian army is introducing a new assault rifle. The current AR-70 and ARX-160 models from the “Soldato Futuro” program are now being replaced by the NARP. The manufacturer remains the same: BERETTA DEFENSE TECHNOLOGIES. The NARP will initially be issued to special forces, then to the entire army. The NARP—first unveiled at DSEI 2023—keeps up with the times and looks like an AR15 system from the outside, but has a slightly different interior.
