James Reeves from TFB shares insights on the new GLOCK Gen 6 models, including the GLOCK 17/47, 19, and 45. Key updates feature enhanced grip design, a flat trigger, and an improved optics system. He reviews its reliability and parts compatibility, alongside feedback from Kaya, a former FBI agent. The Gen 6 models release on January 20, 2026.
Where we are, he's not far away. James Reeves from TFB was also at the Gen6 presentation at GLOCK in Smyrna, USA. Here's his verdict on the new generation:
"GLOCK just launched the Gen 6, so I flew out under embargo to run the new GLOCK 17/47, 19, and 45 Gen 6 side by side and see what actually changed. In this video I go over the real reliability data from GLOCK and the FBI, the new grip and palm swell, the flat trigger, factory undercut, gas pedal, extended beaver tail and redesigned texture, plus the new optics system that replaces the old MOS plates and works with RMR and DPP footprints. We talk about parts compatibility, the new barrel and single captive recoil spring, quasi modular slide and frame swaps between the 17 and 19, the price compared to the Gen 5 MOS, and the January 20, 2026 release date.
I bring in Kaya from Classic Firearms, a former FBI agent and one of the best shooters I know, to give his honest take on the Gen 6 after carrying GLOCK on duty for years. Some people will say GLOCK did not change enough, others will say they changed too much, but after shooting it hard I think this is the best Glock yet and proof that Glock is actually listening to what shooters have been asking for."
The new Gen6 models will be available in stores starting January 20.HERE is the Gen6 product page from GLOCK with all the information.
