The hot Switchblade 400

AeroVironment unveiled the latest version of its Switchblade loitering munition at AUSA 2025: Switchblade 400 is a rocket-launched, medium range, man-portable loitering munition – 39 lbs AUR weight vs 65. lbs for SB600 – engineered for decisive battlefield overmatch. Designed to defeat tanks and heavy armor, it delivers lethal standoff effects with pinpoint precision in contested environments.

The Switchblade 400 is AeroVironment’s offering for LASSO and was tailored to fit that program. It is similar to the heavier Switchblade 600, including a Javelin multipurpose warhead and optics allowing lengthy standoff range. But AeroVironment shrunk its systems, getting its weight down to less than 40 pounds and making it more portable.
