The Bushcraft-Event in Austria

The Survival Rally 2026 will take place on August 7 and 8, 2026, in Schwarzenbach an der Pielach, Lower Austria. The organizer describes the event as Austria’s largest bushcraft and survival event.

The centerpiece is a roughly 12-kilometer circuit featuring six stations covering bushcraft and survival skills. In addition, there will be an individual competition, a class requiring a backpack weighing at least 15 kilograms, and a team competition. New challenges, more workshops, and an expanded exhibitor area have also been announced for 2026.

Exhibitors already confirmed include Steambow, Adventure Menu, Leica, Steinadler, Fallen Scout Blades, Deerstalker, Jeronimo Knives, Katadyn, Edgy, Armybug, Companox, Deiser, and many more. Among the service providers and training organizations, Critical Knowledge, Wildnisschule Waldkraft, Die Jagdpraxis, Der Prepbär, Notruf Niederösterreich, CRII – Living Skills, the Lower Austrian Civil Protection Association, Survivallife (Volker Breme), and Armin Hammerbacher have been mentioned so far.

The workshop program has not yet been fully released, but some details are already available: In addition to bookable workshops, Wildnisschule Waldkraft is offering a free bow drill competition. Critical Knowledge is announcing realistic workshops on life-saving first aid, and Der Prepbär & Survivalwolf Austria plan to demonstrate improvised first aid for injuries using simple tools in a workshop. Armin Hammerbacher, a former KSK soldier, will offer a hands-on station on the topic of “Orientation without GPS – structured navigation using natural landmarks.” There will also be a bow-building workshop, axe throwing, a Steambow testing area, and much more.

All in all, Survivalrally 2026 will not only be a competition but also a gathering place for the bushcraft and survival community, featuring hands-on activities, workshops, and community building.
