UF PRO will release a free five-part video series on April 27, 2020, showcasing the latest "Tactical Tracking" techniques for apprehending fleeing suspects. Presented by former Dutch Royal Marine Boris Vos, each episode covers methods for identifying and analyzing footprints, broken branches, and other traces.
UF PRO, manufacturer of advanced tactical clothing for military and law enforcement units in Europe and overseas, will release the first episode of a free five-part video series on April 27, 2020, showcasing the latest "Tactical Tracking" techniques for apprehending fleeing suspects.
The video series, titled "Pro's Guide to Tactical Tracking," will be presented by former Dutch Royal Marine Boris Vos and his team of tactical trackers who hunt down potential suspects, said UF PRO.
In each episode, Vos will inform viewers about the latest methods for identifying and correctly analyzing footprints, broken branches, campfire ashes, discarded items, and other suspicious traces left behind by fleeing individuals, said UF PRO.
Tactical Tracking allows for predicting where sought-after suspects might reconvene and the likely escape routes they will take when they feel they are about to be captured.
"Tactical Tracking is a high-level skill that allows military units or law enforcement agencies to collect visual clues about a suspect's recent presence or movement in an area and then correctly interpret them," says UF PRO.
The episodes of the series "Pro's Guide to Tactical Tracking" will be released weekly. Additional release dates, after the premiere on April 27, 2020, are:
In Episode 1, Vos and his team are tasked with chasing a group of suspects hiding out. At the scene, Vos demonstrates how to collect and assess the evidence carelessly left behind by the suspects on their escape.
In the second episode, the suspect tracks lead the team into a forest. Vos describes a dilemma that the lead tracker is typically faced with in such an environment and explains how to apply a five-step tracking technique to get out of this predicament.
In the third episode, we venture into a cave system. There, Vos and his team discover an extinguished campfire. Using partially burned evidence found in the ash, they draw important conclusions.
Next, in Episode 4, the team tracks the suspects across an open field. The tactic that works best here is searching in the Y-formation. Vos explains the principles behind it and shows why it is the perfect choice in this situation.
In the fifth and final episode, Vos demonstrates different techniques that can be used when suspects try to go underground in an urban environment, similar to the group he and his team have been tracking. The most important of the techniques presented is known as a "track trap." It is very useful in figuring out which intersections the suspects will cross when fleeing on paved roads.
Vos is a former Royal Netherlands Marine with qualifications as an instructor in combat tracking, sniping, and jungle warfare. He gained his combat tracking instructor skills with the British Training Team Brunei in Southeast Asia. In addition to his own Royal Netherlands Marines, Vos has also developed combat tracking training courses for special forces, regular military, and law enforcement agencies from around the world. Vos completed six operational deployments during his military career and currently works as a senior instructor in a leadership development program for African rangers tasked with stopping poachers.
In conjunction with the "Pro's Guide to Tactical Tracking" video series, UF PRO will give away a limited Tactical Tracking Patch to those who order tactical gear worth at least €100 from the UF PRO online store.
