Switchblade 600 for SOCOM

AeroVironment, Inc is a global leader in intelligent multi-domain robotic systems and on September 28, 2021, received a firm-fixed-price contract worth $20,321,973 from the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for the procurement of Switchblade® 600 tactical missile systems (TMS). The delivery is expected to be completed by January 2023.

Switchblade 600 is a portable tactical missile that allows forces to fly, track, and engage targets without line-of-sight, as well as engage lightly armored vehicles with lethal precision effect. The tube-launched Switchblade 600 can be easily deployed from fixed and mobile platforms in any environment, providing users with battlefield superiority and minimizing exposure to direct and indirect enemy fire.

AeroVironment's Switchblade 600 is a portable end-to-end solution equipped with a powerful gimbaled EO/IR sensor suite, precise flight control, and over 40 minutes of flight time to enable unprecedented tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA).

Its anti-armor warhead enables engagement and tracking of hardened stationary and moving lightly armored vehicles from multiple angles without the need for external ISR or firepower. The patented "Wave-off and recommit" capability of the Switchblade 600 allows the operator to abort the mission at any time and then engage the same or different targets multiple times at the command of the operator, leading to minimal to no collateral damage.
