Afghan ANA Commandos in action this week. When we look at such images, it always feels a bit like a journey back in time: The ANA Commandos are wearing the equipment that the Americans had a few years ago, supplied from US depots. MICH2001 with the old Norotos Mount and an M4A1 with an Aimpoint Comp M4. Among Americans, this has been replaced by Ops-Core FAST Helm and Wilcox Mount, and optics largely replaced by Specter DR or EOTech 553.
